    We provide, and host over 100 classes and workshops each year, with a curriculum that is accessible to startups, youth, veterans, and individuals at any stage of the entrepreneurial journey. Our hands-on tech classes cover cutting-edge technologies, help you learn new skills and make your software boundaries vanish. Each teacher has industry experience, and a unique perspective to be able to provide first-hand insights into the topic and its potential impact on various industries. Each session, from mobile and web development, to hardware and 3D-Printing is interactive and collaborative. 



    In addition to providing early-stage startups and freelancers with coworking space, tools to build their venture, and support for their business - as a member, we provide an exclusive E.L.I.T.E. (Entrepreneur, Leadership, Intelligence, Technology, and Empowerment) monthly series with experts who share their insider perspective on cutting-edge knowledge, tools or methods. Each month we bring in an industry thought leader to break down emerging technologies and trends in a hands on workshop or 1-on-1 office hour meetings.



    Whether it's a Hack-a-thon, lecture, class, seminar, or meetup - We regularly host a wide variety of events here at BLUE1647.     Code Chicago is a series of hands-on, mobile development, web programming and design trainings where every participant will work with one another and join in the spirit of collaboration and learning. Whether you’re a beginner or advancing student, we help build up communities in and around the Chicago area, enlarging the market of people that can affect change and solve problems with technology. Weekend & evening events specialize in industry-relevant training, designed with an emphasis on developing your own web and mobile application.

    21CYP teaches youth advanced technology as a path to opportunity.

    Founded in 2011, the 21st Century Youth Project (21CYP) teaches advanced technology as a path to opportunity. The program focuses on improving skills Today (through teaching and tutoring), Tomorrow (through coaching and mentoring), and the Future (through internship placement), with an entrepreneurial focus. Key deliverables for student participants are creation of web and mobile apps for (Google Android, iPhone, iPad etc.), accompanying business plans, accrual of college credits and case studies on their resumes and portfolios because of hands-on tangible skills gained through internship placements. Parents and guardians can apply for monthly trainings & events for youth.

    The 1919 Women in Technology Initiative. The name of the women’s cohort pays homage to the 19th amendment and voting rights act for women. This initiative focuses on bringing together Chicago women in technology through education and collaborations. 1919 is in partnership with Accenture, one of the world’s leading organizations providing management consulting, technology and outsourcing services.     Forging innovative civic data & technology efforts

    The mission of CivicBLUE1647 is to use civic data to teach people about data.  We also foster a conversation between technologists and the community in order to spark innovation at the neighborhood level, finding ways to make technology-centric civic engagement more sustainable. BLUE1647 is here to teach and learn, contribute and receive, and to create opportunities to build hope.

    Providing Participants Access to Employers

    The Re-Connect Program provides individuals interested in technology with web development skills and technology certifications that will jumpstart their career opportunities in the technology industry. The 6-week Re-Connect training program is for men and women, ages eight-teen and older, that have been unemployed for greater than six months. The training program includes three levels of achievements consisting of:

    • Microsoft IT Academy
    • CompTIA certifications & more
    • Web programming

    Qualified participants will also receive exclusive resources and access to the latest job opportunities available.

    Internship Accelerator

    The BLUE|1647 Internship Accelerator matches selected minority high school and undergraduate-level students with Chicago-based startups and businesses for internships, and provides them with the insight, training, and networks needed to ensure their success. Through a high-touch fellowship model, and immersive business and high-tech software training, the Internship Accelerator will prepare motivated individuals for leadership in their fields.

    Our Coding and Minecraft Game Development Bootcamps will engage students excitement of learning in a fun way. After our Starter Bootcamp, students are invited to more advanced game development classes.
